On the 21st November there was a surprise waiting for Rosemary Ijeoma Wejinya as she opened the doors of Trowbridge Community Centre in Cardiff.

The music started and the words of Happy Birthday bellowed out from a crowd of family and friends. Daughter Blessing Salami greeted her mother at the door as the emotion of the moment was too much and a few happy tears fell.

The room was full of love for Rosemary on her 60th birthday and her emotions of surprise soon turned to celebration after changing into her traditional Nigerian dress she danced her way back into the room.

Pastors Daniel Kamara, Mrs Janet Kamara and Dr Mrs Gifty David gave prayer and praise of 60 years of life and family and friends in turn spoke of the privilege of knowing her.

There were more tears from everybody at the party as video of family in Nigeria was screened high on a wall. Sons and daughters all seven of them praised their mum from afar but the atmosphere changed to humour when the grandchildren performed.
