Hands appear from the edge of the frame holding the mobile phone of Peter Nahimara.
Peter, a Kenyan living in Cardiff has been in the UK for 21 years and in that time has only seen his family in Africa on two occasions.
He asked a member of the Muslim Doctors Association in an open vaccination session at Dar-Ul-Isra Mosque, Cardiff if he would take a photograph as he received his vaccination.
He says,” I wanted to protect myself as Covid has taken so many lives and I didn’t want to be a victim”. He added sadly, “My mother told me she would not have the vaccination. She had been told many false rumours about the effects of the vaccination so refused the jab and then I hear she is in hospital with Covid. Thankfully she has improved after successful treatment and this week left hospital but it is so scary when you hear your mother is suffering because she believes some crazy stories.
He added, “I wanted to show my family and friends at home that I had received the jab and to try to persuade them to stay safe and protect themselves and not believe the rumours".
