Sixty-six years of Ghana independence was celebrated over a weekend of remembrance and fun. A flag raising ceremony kicked off the weekend at Bute Town Community Centre before an evening function of dance, food and fun and a Sunday service at St Andrews, Birchgrove, Cardiff.
Dr. Frankie Asare-Donkoh, President of Ghana Union of Wales said “ It is always a special day to celebrate our countries independence but having Ghana Deputy High Commissioner for the UK Madam Rita Tani lddi joining us made the weekend extra special”.
Stephen Doughty MP for Cardiff South and Penarth emphasised the unity between the communities in a speech during the evening festivities.
Saturday introduced the gathering to Ghanian stars in the making with a performance by rap artist Kahpun and music by DJ Prada
